Made To Crave (Finding Your "Want To")

Ok, here I go on this wild journey called weight loss.  My sister recommended this book to me (Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst).  I have picked it up once before and only got a couple chapters in before I fell into my usual cycle of losing weight, losing motivation, and eventually giving up.  This time around, I want it to be different.  My current Bible Study I am reading, Jonah, a Life Interrupted, has prompted me to start this blog as a way to provide not only accountability but also hopefully support for others struggling in the same way.

"Finding Your 'Want To'" grabbed my attention from the title alone!  This is me!  So many times I have tried to lose weight with fad diets and have succeeded....until I stopped the diet!  I don't know about anyone else, but I'm tired of it.
Lysa wrote about Matthew 19.  The familiar story of a rich man confronting Jesus about how he can follow Jesus fully. Jesus tells him to give up his riches, leave them behind, and follow Him.  Lysa had mentioned how she can "imagine Jesus looked straight into this young man's soul and said,'I want you to give up the one thing you crave more than me. Then come, follow me.'" ( Made to Crave pg 15).   How convicting this was for me!  Do I crave other things in life ( food included!)  more than God?

I'm excited to begin this journey!  Feel free to comment and/or add anything to the entries!

For my own records.  Here we are getting ready to take my oldest to Kindergarten Registration (Aug 2011)
